TEXT ON MY PATREON: www.patreon.com/posts/new-year…

-o-

Hello, everybody! This is a post to comment on some changes I've done to my Patreon page and projects. Please read and share!

First of all: Happy New Year! Hope you all had a great celebration. Now, let's get to the important stuff...

The first main change on my Patreon page is the description of what I am doing, here. It used to say "Megawacky Max is making Comics"; now it reads "Megawacky Max is making Webcomics and Little Games". That's right, 2017 is the year that will hopefully see me coming back to the world of Game Developing. I already have a few little games in mind, so I might just have all year scheduled on those digital projects; but more on that later.

Now there is a new introductory text, explaining who I am and what I am working on. It's brief and more ellegant than the old text, which was much longer and tedious. You can still read the old text, though, since I've saved it as a text post here in Patreon (only, no images; but still).

I've set my current projects into two main items. On one hand, the Webcomic refers to Wilfreda the Wanna-Be Witch, which I will now update twice a week instead of just once. Patreons will get to read the comics earlier, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Then, the Little Games category will be currently filled by Bits & Bytes' Wedding RPG project, a RPG Maker game that will give a proper ending to my Bits & Bytes webcomic, which ended on December of 2016. My Patreons will get news, previews, and early builds of the game, when available.

Finally, I've totally changed my old Goals, since they seemed inadequate. Now that I am writing again for that gaming site, I'm earning a little extra money to help pay the bills, so I can focus my Patreon money for more direct matters. Take a look and notice I've set up four Goals, at $10, $50, $100, and $500. Each will help me and my creations in one way or another.

The only thing I didn't change was the minimum Pledge amount, which allows you to pay anything from $1 up. I was considering adding at least a second tier (either at $5 or $10) with a special reward, but right now I can't guarantee to be able to do anything special. Perhaps I could make it a "Draw me a Sketch" reward at $5, but right now I don't know how this 2017 will be for me in terms of work. Still, it's something to consider for the future, so stay tuned for that.

Right now, any Pledge will let you read my webcomics a couple days earlier than anyone else, and I will add your name as Special Thanks in my Little Games. It's a start.

SO, let's get started, shall we? On we go!

I got a nasty cold, last weekend, and I haven't been able to write nor draw the new Bits & Bytes comic. Here's a little compensation in the shape of Extra sketches and comics, plus a bit of trivia: bitsandbytescomic.tumblr.com/p…

Hopefully I'll be able to draw this week's Wilfreda comic, since I had it written since last week, and Wilfreda's comic is usually much easier to draw than Bits & Bytes. Let's see how that goes, though.

Stay tuned for more!

EDIT: AND HERE'S MORE, ALREADY! Have a second helping of Extra Content, now with Behind the Scenes sketches and doodles! bitsandbytescomic.tumblr.com/p…

Hello, guys. It's the beginning of a new year, and I'd like to make some New Years resolutions, as well as commenting on things I really, really want to do, this 2016. Brace yourselves, 'cause this is one long text.

On we go, then.

2015, A ROCKY YEAR:

I can't say I enjoyed 2015 that much. It was a year of many changes, and many more disappointments. I could have done a lot of things... but I fell in such a negative mood during most of the year that... well, things got delayed over and over.

Just a handful of good things came out of 2015, and not that much else. The first one was the creation of Wilfreda the Wanna-Be Witch and her cute webcomic, which was promptly followed by me giving the first step into Patreon on the last few months of the year. I am honestly very surprised to have generated some attention, managing to convince a few people to give me a hand, month after month. To them, my deepest thanks. You guys will keep receiving early access to my webcomics and, perhaps, something extra this 2016, depending on how well I do.

2015 was also the year when I finally began to properly translate Bits & Bytes to english, although "properly" is a bit of a stretch. I will be the first to admit that my english is not the best, and I'm sure there are plenty of typos in my translations. Sorry for that, and, again, thanks for bearing with me.

And yet, despite it all, 2015 was not a good year, broadly speaking. I'm sure I could have done just so much more. Which is why I'm now looking at this brand-new 2016. Here's a blank slate full of possibilities, and I'm feeling positive about it. Let's consider 2015 as the year where I learned some things, and this 2016 as the year where I'll try to put some of that knowledge to the test. And so, we have...

2016, POSSIBILITIES IN THE MAKING:

...so, so many projects for this new year; so let's talk a little bit about them, shall we?

First of all, my webcomics. Both Bits & Bytes and Wilfreda the Wanna-Be Witch will continue to grow in weekly doses, in both Spanish and English. But that won't be all. At some point of this year I'll start working, for once and for all, in one of my oldest, most regarded personal projects: Tales from Mágika, a new webcomic of which I've already written and drawn the first chapter, although only in Spanish.

This new adventure will follow a slighly different schedule than my other works, since I'll be working on it in episodes. How I will release those episodes, that's what I still haven't figure out. Should I try to keep a steady once-a-week schedule, or should I take breaks between episodes to advance the plot, and THEN release the pages, one per day? I'm still not sure.

What I do know is that I will be writing a lot of scripts, so at least I will have the general structure of this new comic properly defined. So... you should definitely wait for that, this year.

Then, there's Bits & Bytes. But wait, haven't I already said I'd keep updating that webcomic? Well, yes... But this is more than just that. One of the very first things I'll be doing this year is to make a physical antology compilation of Bits & Bytes, which will hopefully include all pages up to a certain point (either page 101 or 151, I have not decided yet), plus most of the EXTRA comics, and assorted drawings and sketches based on the webcomic.

I will start researching on printing prices next week, so I can have a clear idea of what's best for this project, as soon as possible. SADLY, this antology will only be available in Spanish, at least at first. If things go well, I will consider an English version.

And... last, but by no means least...

...I'm thinking on going back to make games.

I'm already working on a Visual Novel based on Bits & Bytes, which I am looking forward to finish around late January, early February of 2016; first in Spanish, and then translated to English. Once that's done, I really, really want to give it a try to a handful of small projects lurking around in my mind. I love videogames and I've loved programming all those silly little nonesenses, back then. I want to go back to that.

SO...

Many plans for this 2016. Many hopes. Plenty of projects. And, at the moment of writing this, an awful lot of willpower. What do you say, guys? Want to join me in this wild ride? You can, by supporting me ever so slightly on Patreon: www.patreon.com/MegawackyMax Every little bit helps.

Those who support me will have early access to my weekly webcomics, and in the future I'm looking to show exclusive sketches (mostly of games I would be working of, or webcomics) and beta versions of my wanna-be games.

I've been dreaming for so long...

...

...It's damn well time to make some of those dreams a reality.

Let's see what happens,

This special consists on a story arc of seven daily strips, to be uploaded starting next Monday, on Wilfreda's official Tumblr: wilfredacomic.tumblr.com/

My Patreons can read the first four strips right away, and next Tuesday they'll have the remaining three strips, also ahead of time.

This story arc promises to deliver a couple reveals about our young witch (is Wilfreda a witch, anyway?), as well as to solidify her friendship with the rest of the cast.

I've been meaning to do this for a while, now, but I couldn't get myself to convince myself. I've started a Patreon to--perhaps--help me a bit wiuth some taxes and stuff.

I've created a few things in the past and I am currently working on some new things, including a weekly webcomic that could easily become three webcomics a week (I know I want to make a second one, at least). But these things do take time and effort.

Take a look at my Patreon. See what I've done. See what I want to do. Can you help me out? If you can, it'll help me greately. If you can't, that's okay. You can always enjoy my comics for free.

Be aware: my first eBook is in SPANISH. If you don't understand the language, you may as well skip this.

I've already published two books, but distribution around here is a pretty difficult matter. SO, I've finally decided to put one of those books in digital format, to allow anyone in the world to grab a copy for a minimun fee.

The book in question is my second published novel, titled "El Alma Sin Cuerpo (y Viceversa)" (The Bodyless Soul (and Vice-versa)), and it deals about a man whose soul decides to--voluntarily--leave his body behind in order to have fun and be free. This leaves our character with two halves: a lost soul who seeks amusement but lacks the means to interact with the physical world, and an impassive body with no trace of emotion, who does what has to be done without being affected by feelings of any kind.

I'm testing the waters with this first eBook, to be honest. If things go well then I might try to do the same with my first novel (BioMundo). For the time being, you can get this first eBook in two formats (PDF and ePUB) for the low price of 3 dollars.

You can read the first pages of the book in my website, clicking RIGHT HERE (it's in spanish, remember). Interested? You can purchase it right here: gumroad.com/l/TTslk

Let's see how this goes. :)

FINALLY I'm giving my webcomic an "official" translation to english, and so I invite you all to Bits & Bytes' official Tumblr page in english:

I'll be trying to upload translated pages on a regular basis, so if you're interested in my little, silly webcomic, then you better follow it closely. Tell your friends! :D And ENJOY!

In the past few days I've been uploading again after a long, long period of tranquility... of sorts. See, for the past two-three years I've been busy. VERY busy. Like, incredibly busy. Lesser and lesser time to draw... or at least, lesser and lesser of time to draw properly.

And when I did draw, I would only show my art through Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr; mainly because those were my most accesible sites. Yes, I actually felt it was kind of a pain to post those pics here as well.

But now things changed a bit. I have a bit more of free time in my hands, so, well, it's time to catch up a little and start uploading again. And I am starting by uploading most of my "Waiting Art". I call it "Waiting Art" because I drew these pieces while I was waiting either on a line (to pay taxes, mostly) or at the Dentist's office. I mean, if they are going to make me wait, at least I won't waste that time.

That is why practically all of my recent art are sketches; because that's the best I could do with a small notepad and a mechanical pencil. Hey, it helped me keep the drawing flood going, so that's cool, right?

Later on I will probably start uploading better-looking art. Bear with me, there's still much to upload, and I'm adding new drawings every day!

Take care!

[ ENGLISH / INGLÉS ]

Situation down here in Argentina with the currency exchange between Argentinian Pesos and Nort American Dollars is getting worse (not to mention additional taxes and such). Since I write for a videogame magazine, something I really need to purchase games (and other times I just love to play games, period).

I am actually thinking that I could try to accept commisions in exchange of games at Steam or, in an utopian extreme case, code cards for my 3DS. I never really did commisions before, though, so I’m not entirely sure. I’m confident I can draw; I just don’t think I meet the expactations.

Does any of that make sense? Should I give it a try?

Checking some extremely old folders I came across an old project of mine for a videogame based on the "Hey, Arnold!" cartoon series. And when I say old, I do mean OLD, like, MS-DOS like. Here you can watch two videos I recorded about it. (NOTE: THE VIDEOS ARE IN SPANISH, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE GAMEPLAY NONETHELESS)

ALPHA 00: First sample of the game. A basic level aimed to show the main character's movements. Pretty concrete, yet functional.

ALPHA 01: Released originally on a far-gone Halloween. A more extense level and with more content, including treasure chests, attacks, enemies, inventory system, health bar, and more.

Sadly, the project never came full circle. Sometimes I really want to (try to) program games again. I have to try.

Wow. Just wow. I've been... like... SO out of the drawing side of my soul, lately. Too many things to do in Real Life. Most of them related to my job. Some others of a more personal situation. And other... just...

Last year I got awarded in a short story competition. I got second place. They gave me a medal and everything. And there was also another prize: 60 copies of a book of my own, up to 70 pages for me to use as I pleased.

At first I considered just taking most of my short stories and publish a book of short stories. But I am not like that when it comes to creative stuff. I'm an annoying little bastard who just can't help to do more that needed. Short stories? Pah! I'll write a darn short NOVEL and you will be happy about it!

So I did.

I wrote a short novel. IN A MONTH.

67 pages. IN A MONTH.

29.820 words. IN A MONTH.

174.397 characters. IN A MOTHERBLEEPING MONTH.

Just... WOW...

Now I have to enter the tedious but aways-needed revision stage. But the book is written, friends, and it will be published around mid-2013. I am going to publish my second book this year.

Just... just...

...

... WOW.

Hey, people. How's it going? Been away for a while. Many things happened. Many more bound to happen. Thought on updating things a bit for all who care.

:bulletgreen: First, an awesome news I haven't commented here: I'm gonna be Uncle. :aww: Yeah, my sister is expecting a baby girl, so it really makes me happy.

:bulletgreen: Second, on a more personal success, I've been selected among the winners of the first-ever YMIR contest at Larp Editores. Remember the graphic novel I teased about back in November and Devember of 2011? That was "Meeting Vlad", one of the six winning stories. I am extremely surprised it won, seriously.

:bulletgreen: Because of such win, I am invited to assing next April's Book Fair at Buenos Aires. I'm considering going, of course, but I am truly scared of the city. -.- Hopefully it'll be a one-day trip. I might even bring some of my BioMundo books to try to advertise there. Sounds like a good idea, but I still have to ask if it's okay to do that.

:bulletgreen: Been quite thrilled on TV shows, lately. Mythbusters is back, but there's also Unchained Reaction, which is basically Jamie and Adam making people build insane contraptions. So far it looks funny, like Junkyard Wars (man, I miss THAT one).

:bulletgreen: My Little Pony keeps getting better, but I must say I am quite stunned of Legend of Korra. I recently saw the first two episodes and it brings me a very strange kind of joy. The setting is much more "modern" than I expected, but it does seem to blend quite well. Oh, and I REQUEST a proper Pro-Bending videogame. It HAS to be done, people.

:bulletgreen: I'm having tons of ideas for new stories. I don't seem to be able to put them on paper, though. I feel I'm missing something... Lack of inspiration? That can't be, otherwise I wouldn't have so many ideas. It's more of a "what's the use? who'd care?" kind of feeling, which is nasty. The ideas include two short novels, a compilation of small sci-fi tales, and of course, a certain trilogy I've been attempting to write since 2001-2004, can't remember properly. I really, really need to start typing.

:bulletgreen: And when all is said and done... I'm feeling rather lonely. I guess I've always had problems in the "social" part of my life, and here I am now, wondering about that. I feel I'm waiting for an answer that is not coming. Ever. I'll dare to guess it's one of those situations in which you must not wait, but dare to step forward, so I'll see.

But anyway, I've bored you all long enough. :-) Many things to be done... very little time to do all of them. I'm looking forward to draw a bit more, or something. See you all around.

Did you know I've written a silly little one-shot "My Little Pony" fic? Why, it's right here: fav.me/d4e26kf

Well, I've been attempting to send it to Equestria Daily, but despite the improvements it still requires corrections. Being my native language NOT english, I will never achieve such feat.

SO...

I'm looking for anyone who can proof-read the story and highlight (or even correct) my grammar mistakes, so I can try and send it again to Equestria Daily. I will of course credit whoever helps me with this, mentioning their name and linking their gallery from every place I've posted this story so far.

Can anyone help me, then?
